From January 2017, the joint Secretariat for the APPG are CIPFA (the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy) and King’s College London. CIPFA contribute to the core funding of the group and provide administrative support to the APPG. King’s College London provides core research and policy support.
The APPG was established in September 2015 with the help of the think tank Common Vision (CoVi) and CIPFA, who acted as the joint Secretariat until December 2016.

CIPFA, the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, is the professional body for people in public finance. CIPFA has 14,000 members working throughout the public services, in national audit agencies, in major accountancy firms, and in other bodies where public money needs to be effectively and efficiently managed.
